What is special about PVT systems
The hybrid collector or PVT module supplies approx. 5,000 kWh of electricity and approx. 9,500 kWh of heat per year by combining photovoltaics and solar thermal energy, e.g. with 16 collectors on an area of 25 square meters.
With a rated output of approx. 1000 watts (400 watts electrical and 600 watts thermal), the PVT module currently has the highest energy yield of all solar modules available on the market in terms of collector area.
The energy yield thus corresponds approximately to the distribution in a private home, where one third is required for electricity and two thirds for heat. This makes the solar hybrid technology or PVT system particularly suitable for roof systems, where the area available for solar systems is limited and the demand for a technology with a high proportion of self-consumption is constantly growing.
A solar system with 20 hybrid collectors requires an area of approx. 32 square meters and produces approx. 6,000 to 7,000 kilowatt hours of electricity and approx. 11,000 kilowatt hours of heat per year.
With the appropriate storage systems for electricity and heat, around 75 % of annual electricity consumption and around 80 to 90 % of annual heat consumption can be generated.
